My dream job
Welcome again.
I feel that answering this question is somewhat difficult. Something that motivated me to study biochemistry is research, so I would love to work in a laboratory. The schedule would depend on the procedure I am going to perform and how fast I get the results. To carry out an investigation you have to know a lot about a subject and find something that has no explanation. You have to know how to perform electrophoresis, PCR, ELISA, etc.
This job would allow me to travel, something that I really like, since I can practice anywhere in the world. In addition, laboratories abroad are often better equipped compared to Chile. I can also go to seminars or congresses to learn more, or I can travel to present my research work.
Regarding the salary, it is very relative, it depends on what procedure I am performing, if I win the funds for a project or if the laboratory itself has more resources. All this also depends on the projects I have done and my academic degree. Some people teach at universities to earn a little more money, but I don't like teaching. I chose this career because I love biology and I hope that money is not an issue.
Bye bye!
